AIDS has been one of the largest killers of people on the planet since cancer and the Black Plague way back in the Middle Ages. Thousands of people have died due to the disease and thousands more are infected all over the globe. The AIDS DENIALISM movement used celebrity endorsements, hidden funding and even heavy duty media coverage to raise awareness about themselves irrespective of the large volumes of information to the contrary.

Let?s be frank. To be completely unbiased means to allow these people a free rein to talk and that?s what they are doing. In the US, AT present AIDS treatment is available and free to all infected patients. The main arguments by the Denialists are simple-

1. HIV is harmless or does not exist and is not contagious though bodily fluids and breast milk.
2. HIV testing is not required as its unreliable
3. Anti retro viral therapy will exacerbate the disease and cause you more side effects so avoid them completely.
4. AIDS affects only the homosexuals and sexual minority that practice deviant sexual practices.
5. AIDS is a government created propaganda

Please rest assured that all of the above claims are false. But the nay-sayers can be really persuasive. Prominent journalists like Celia Farber; academicians like Peter Duesberg, professor of molecular and cell biology, University of California, Berkeley: biochemists David Rasnick and Harvey Bialy; Kary Mullis, Noble prize winner; academic ethicist Hiram Caton, mathematician Serge Lang; and college administrator Henry Bauer can all talk quit persuasively on the topic of why AIDS is not the universal killer that it is supposed to be. And the greatest tragedy is that infected and dying people do listen and go off their life saving medications that could have prolonged their lives!

However the greatest tragedy-farce came about when prominent AIDS Denialists Magazine CONTINUUM had to stop production as its entire production team died due to AIDS related causes! Another atrocious death was of Christine Maggiore who was one of the prominent advocates of AIDS Denialism. Ignoring explicit doctor?s orders, she breast fed both her children when she was HIV positive and refused to treat them with anti retro viral therapy; and that resulted in the death of her adorable three year old daughter due to AIDS- related pneumonia. She herself expired at the age of 52 due to AIDS related conditions that could have been controlled by AIDS medication.

AIDS is real and you can control it; but the thousands of infected should just hold on to hope! AIDS Denialism is not the answer!
